Poker Bluff for Beginners – The Golden Rule of Poker Guide to Bluff and Bluff

It’s all very well that it’s for good, patient, hopeful hands – and that’s the key to win in poker (particularly online). But what do you do when your hands do not reach? And what do you do when you get to the stage where everyone at the table is withdrawn as soon as you reach for your chips? It’s time to mix things up a bit, and it confuses your opponents by tossing in some lighthouse…

So when is good time to bluff? And when is terrible time of bluff? Read on, and we’ll open the door to the world of poker bluff.

The first thing to get your next round when it comes to bluffing in poker is your position. It is much easier to get away with a bluff if there are fewer games to act after you. For this reason, the  you are in the later position (i.e. the further you are away from the first player to act), the greater the chance of your bluff work. If you are in the small blind, and there is only the big blind left to act, then you only have to bluff a player to win the jackpot. If you are “under the gun” that is to say first then to act you need to get everyone else to retire – and that is not easy.

If you are ” hand in hand “, i.e. there is obviously only you and another player left (in a tournament for example) then you have a much better chance of bluffing and getting away with it. Consider, however, that seasoned poker players will recognize when a player is in a good position to bluff, and so can go “to keep you honest”. This is especially true if you climb “from the mark” with only the blinds left to play – well they can “defend their blinds” by going and opening it out on the flop no matter where the cards come from.

You also need to understand what kind of player you are trying to bluff. If a player has gone every previous raise, then they will go their raise, regardless of whether their hand is good or not. This is a terrible hour of bluffing – expect a good hand against lost players who go regularly. Instead, work better bluffing against “tight” players who will easily withdraw if they do not have a good hand.

If you are playing online then look at what tables have large jackpot sizes – this is a sign that the players want to go more frequently. If you want to practice the bluff, pick a tight board – try the pokerstars, where players tend to be more solid and can be farols thus more easily. In tables if poker laos is found in the ultimate bet then you want to play tight poker, and bluff less often.

If you are playing a “fixed limit ” version of poker, then you need to adjust your strategy that bluff to take into account the fact that other players will not have to pay as much to see your hand. This means that a “very cold bluff” is much less profitable tactic than he is in “limitless” poker games. Develop the “semi-bluff” art (see below) when playing fixed limit games.
